Kenyans now have a reason to smile after a new micro insurance product dubbed Imarisha Jamii targeting low income earners was introduced to the market. Launched at Riruta Stadium in Kawangware, Nairobi on June 20th 2018 targeting the low –income earners, Imarisha Jamii is as result of a partnership between Kenya’s biggest insurance company; Jubilee Insurance and Bluewave Insurance agency. The product is currently being piloted at Kawangwwe in Dagoretti constituency.

With Imarisha Jamii one can pay premiums for as low as Sh20 per week, and access hospital cash of up to Ksh 10,000 when admitted for three nights or more, funeral benefits and disability cover of up to Ksh100, 000. To purchase an Imarisha Jamii cover, Safaricom subscribers can dial *643# from the simplest of feature phones to sign up, make payments, access policy details as well as make claims.
